Spanish Government lodges protest with papal nuncio



Socialist Spain continues to battle the Catholic church for the heart of the culture. The government is threatening de-funding of Catholic institutes.  CWNews reports:

Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Zapatero is meeting with the apostolic nuncio in Madrid today to express his government’s displeasure with political statements by the country’s bishops . . . In their statement the bishops decried several public policies, including the easing of divorce laws, acceptance of same-sex marriage, support for abortion, and negotiations with Basque terrorists.
